I’m at the York (Pa.) Daily Record/Sunday News, where we’re working to use things like Twitter and Utterli in our coverage (and we’re on Facebook, too). I’d be interested to hear anyone’s thoughts/critiques on the following:
-I used Twitter from the inauguration; my tweets appeared on our home page as part of our coverage. They’re here — http://twitter.com/scott_blanchard (anything prefaced by @ydrcom, and they start on page 2)
-We’re using Utterli to help us cover the Harley-Davidson layoff story breaking today: http://ydr.inyork.com/ci_11528763. Only one up so far, but more to come.

I agree that Save the Media is a good resource.

I would also suggest http://www.newsless.org/.
IMHO, the best discussion about a doable path to success going forward is happening over there.
