		<description>My read of this settlement is that it is the headline and lede paragraph that is protected and is not fair use (although the court didn&#039;t rule that). Gatehouse doesn&#039;t mind the links to their stories, they just don&#039;t want their content used in the link (i.e. they don&#039;t want their content to be the anchor text in the link).

If someone puts the essence of the story in their own words and links to the story, no problem (i.e. deep linking is OK).</description>
