@Fools, that’s more or less what I was saying in my piece re: “smoke”. The Times isn’t carping about Newser’s linking or summarizing (at least in this case). And Wolff isn’t saying he has the right to use the logo. So there’s not much else to say.

You all are missing the point. Even Wolff doesn’t care about the logo, he’ll happily take it down. He’s just a publicity whore trying to drum up interest in his site and thinks this is the best way to do it. Congrats to everyone for legitimizing his rantings.

Wolff really nails it when he describes how the NYTimes’ legal threat really indicates its lack of understanding of the Internet (despite having invested hundreds of millions of dollars in it) and the ‘link economy.’

The irony of the NYTimes threatening a lawsuit for infringement is rich given the blatant article skimmer rip-off. Glad Wolff is fired up!
