Twitter and Facebook should hold deal talks, but my feeling is that they won't. They both seem to think the other is unnecessary.

I'm not so sure many of your thoughts in 2009 will not play out in 2010. Round two of the economic downturn is just around the corner and many businesses will be further hampered in their efforts to market. You are right on the new weekly (and even monthly) print/online ventures, they will start popping up all over the place. That may well be one of the futures of print.

Thanks for your thoughts and insights, as usual, gives each of us food for serious thought.

Whoops! I inadvertently posted prematurely. What I meant to say: Insightful predictions (again), Martin. I think you have especially nailed the swift growth we are already seeing in mobile news consumption (and mobile commerce opportunities). I have called for news organizations to pursue a mobile-first strategy: http://bit.ly/6WnABX
