Chris Amico is a journalist and web developer based in Washington, D.C. He runs the technology side of Homicide Watch and helps out with editing and data-driven storytelling. He is spending 2012-13 as a Nieman affiliate.
Connected China is an experiment in breaking out of the incremental story — trying to create a summative, regularly updated visualization of who leads China.
The new project provides a real-time API for closed captions, making it possible to code against what’s being said on TV right now — and enabling a broad range of applications.
