*Marlee Baldridge* is the 2018 Google News Initiative Fellow. Marlee has reported for print, broadcast and online publications. This spring she helped The Houston Herald in Missouri and The Berkshire Edge in Massachusetts build sustainable audience engagement strategies with the typical amount of resources available to community papers (few to none). She’s from Harrisburg, Missouri, population: 276.
“We’re looking hard at what types of stories drive digital-only subscriptions. We know the last story someone read before they hit the meter, we know what the first story is that they visited after they hit the meter, and so what do we do with that information?”
The site, recently rebranded from In Justice Today, wants to shine a light on a more mysterious part of the legal system by focusing on local prosecutors and criminal justice policy.
