Mark Coddington is an assistant professor of journalism and mass communication at Washington & Lee University. He previously studied journalism and the web as a graduate student at the University of Texas. He spent about four years in newspapers, most of that as a reporter for The Grand Island Independent in Nebraska. For several years, he wrote the This Week in Review column for Nieman Lab.
Plus: Edward Snowden calls for greater security online, Tim Berners-Lee calls for a web Bill of Rights, and the rest of the week’s journalism and tech news.
