Sarah Scire is the deputy editor of Nieman Lab. Previously, she worked at the Tow Center for Digital Journalism at Columbia University, Farrar, Straus and Giroux, and The New York Times.
The Moab Times-Independent, owned for generations by the Taylor family, will be donated to the Tribune. The newspaper will transition to free in print for Moab residents and free online for all.
Though the fellowship in New Mexico is short — just nine months — the majority of alumni are currently working full-time in newsrooms across the state.
