The Miami Herald is a daily newspaper in Miami owned by The McClatchy Company.

The Herald’s average daily print circulation as of fall 2010 was 151,612, plus 22,597 for its daily e-edition. The newspaper reported combined web traffic of 5.9 million monthly unique visitors in fall 2009.

The Herald also operates the Spanish-language news organization El Nuevo Herald, one of the United States’ largest Spanish-language news operations. In March 2010, the Herald launched PolitiFact Florida, a statewide fact-checking site, in conjunction with the St. Petersburg Times, which created the original PolitiFact site.

In a project begun in June 2009, the Herald aggregates content from local blogs through a South Florida Blogs channel on its site.

In December 2009, the Herald began asking readers of its free website for donations through a form at the bottom of each page. The practice was discontinued in February 2010, and a company executive said at that time that the Herald had no plans to charge for content online.
