Five months after its failed token sale, Civil is back with a revised, streamlined process. If you’re not an experienced cryptocurrency trader, though, it’ll still take you a while.
Because Civil’s token sale flopped last month, a lot of its journalists haven’t been given the compensation they were led to expect. But even if it does eventually arrive, will it be worth…anything?
Kickstarter is also walking away from its attempt at Patreon-like recurring support: “You and I both know it’s going to take more than a drip of money to help journalism.”

Plus: Civil + podcasts, Anchor’s troublesome TOS, and IAB’s standards.
But beyond the crypto talk, how to actually pay for journalism very much remains an unsolved problem.
