“We don’t see AMP Stories as a fun side project. We believe it will become a core part of our toolbox,” says The Washington Post’s lead product manager.
Bloomberg Lens, built by the digital agency Postlight Labs, finds companies’ and people’s names in any news article — not just Bloomberg’s — and overlays key facts such as stock prices or a person’s previous company affiliations.
“The way I’m thinking about it right now is that we’ve moved from RSS readers and desktop web to very much having our stuff mediated by a series of icons on homescreens.”
“We thought the right way to approach it was to share it as an open project so the whole industry can move forward building on something like this rather than people halfway solving the problem individually.”
Including better support for paywalled sites, richer ad formats, and ways for publishers to direct readers elsewhere on their site from within an AMP article.
