“In lieu of Bluesky, Dorsey is now touting another upstart social media system called Nostr, which he sees as a purer realization of his original vision. Even Dorsey acknowledges that Nostr, at this juncture, is ‘weird and hard to use.’ But he said ‘if you truly believe in censorship resistance and free speech, you have to use the technologies that actually enable that…’ What both Dorsey and Musk seem to overlook is that it isn’t just big corporate brands that dislike social networks riddled with bigotry and extremism.
